117. ΟΜΟΙΩΜΑ MS COSTIS, αχρονολόγητο και ανυπόγραφο. Αυτό το φορτηγό των αρχών της μεταπολεμικής περιόδου, που ναυπηγήθηκε το 1956, αν και πιο μεγάλο και πιο υδροδυναμικό («μοντέρνο») από τους μεσοπολεμικούς του προγόνους, διατηρεί εντούτοις τα βασικά χαρακτηριστικά τους.  Το MS Costis είναι ένα σχετικά μεγάλο πλοίο μήκους 476 ποδιών (145 μ.), με πέντε κύρια αμπάρια και ένα μικρό αμπάρι στην πρύμνη για τη φόρτωση των εφοδίων του. Είχε μηχανή ντίζελ Doxford, 550 ίππων, με πέντε κυλίνδρους. Εκτός από τη μικρή υψωμένη πλώρη έχει «flush-deck» (ανώτατο συνεχές κατάστρωμα), πλώρη μπαλτά και πρύμνη καταδρομικού όπως τα πλοία λίμπερτυ. Οι ιστοί ή ψηλές πόστες του έχουν την ίδια θέση ενώ η μεσαία υπερκατασκευή γέφυρας και μηχανής βρίσκεται στη μέση σχεδόν του πλοίου.  Μοιάζει πολύ με εκσυγχρονισμένο και μεγαλύτερου μεγέθους πλοίο λίμπερτυ. [Στο MS Atalanti Livanos (αρ. 108), το οποίο ναυπηγήθηκε την ίδια χρονιά με το MS Costis, καθώς και στο Α/Π ή MS Dimitris S. (αρ. 59) η μεσαία κατασκευή εμφανίζεται μετακινημένη πιο κοντά στην πρύμνη.]

117. MODEL OF MS COSTIS, undated and unsigned. This early post-World War II break-bulk freighter, built in 1956, is larger and more streamlined, or "modern-looking", than its interwar predecessors, but still has their basic features.  MS Costis is a quite large vessel (476 ft or 145 m long), with 5 main cargo hatches plus a small 6th hatch over the stern, which was for loading ship's supplies rather than cargo. Her Doxford diesel motor, with 5 cylinders, is rated at 550 hp. Except for the small raised forecastle, she has the flush deck, raking stem and cruiser stern of the Liberty ships. Her masts or kingposts have the same placement, and her midship bridge and engine superstructure is still almost exactly in the middle of her length.  In fact, she looks very much like an enlarged and updated Liberty ship. [The painting of MS Atalanti Livanos (No. 108), shows the midship superstructure moved somewhat farther aft on this freighter built the same year as MS Costis. In the model of SS or MV Dimitris S. (No. 59) it is still farther back, in the "three-quarters aft" position].
