South Australian Maritime Museum

The Museum opened in 1986 to be acclaimed as one of the finest maritime museums in the world. Since that time well over 1,000,000 people have visited and the Museum has earned its place as one of this state’s great cultural icons.


In the South Australia in Port Adelaide's historic heart, is situated South Australian Maritime Museum. Its mission is to explore connection of South Australia with sea and water environment, to entertain and educate the public as well.

The museum offers an unbelievable journey of exploration, stimulation and revelation. One of the most interesting exhibition is the Port Adelaide Lighthouse stands at the end of the port.

 

What is more, the museum posses two vessels available for charter, schools groups and holiday cruises. A large and rich collection of items are on display at any one time.
