Steamship Historical Society

The Steamship Historical Society (SSHSA) is an organization dedicated to preserving artifacts and memories from the Steamship days of the past. Our interest is to preserve artifacts and memories from the Steamship days of the past and encourage conservation efforts. Our members find it fun and rewarding to be in the society. We also publish STEAMBOAT BILL on a quarterly basis which is our journal dedicated to steamship history. The society maintains one of the largest libraries in the North America devoted exclusively to the history of engine- powered vessels. This professionally staffed facility is located in the Langsdale Library, University of Baltimore. The library is within easy walking distance of Amtrak's Pennsylvania station in Baltimore.
